City breaks are becoming as popular as sun holidays among
tourists. According to a new study, in the last 12 months 41% of those asked
said they had been on a city break, which was the same result for beach
holidays.
Below we have researched the top 3 destinations for city
breaks:

is not only great for families with small children but also groups of friends.

Barcelona
Barcelona, the capital of Catalonia, has made it
to position two on our top 3 city breaks list. One of the reasons why it is so
popular among tourists, is the fact that it is known as one of Europe’s
liveliest places to visit. Whilst here, it is highly recommended to take a walk
from Plaza de Catalunya and continue on to La Rambla. On your stroll you will
be able to enjoy highly entertaining street performances, find great deals in
the Mercat de Boqueria (street market) and finally end in the 19th
Century opera house, ‘Gran Theatre del Liceu’.
For those foodies out there, Barcelona is
known for its tapas! This is a great way to enjoy a variety of dishes and
submerge yourself in Catalonian cuisine. Can Ramonet is a great restaurant for
tapas and if you don’t want to miss the buzz, head for lunch around 2:30pm and
dinner 9:30pm.
